What I Believe

Dear Readers,

God’s word is my passion, and I’m honored to share my faith with you. I invite you to consider the following as you search the Scriptures for truth.

  • I believe in the God of the Bible, our Father, Omnipotent Creator, Omniscient Caregiver, Elohim, Yahweh, Jehovah, Adonai, “I Am” (Isaiah 40:28)

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LordThe Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable (NKJV).

  • I believe God called us to unity in Him (Ephesians 4:4-6)

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all (NKJV).

  • I believe God has an eternal purpose for His church (Ephesians 3:11)

To me [Paul], who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him (NKJV).

  • I believe Christ built His church, based on the apostle Peter’s confession (Matthew 16:13-18), and established on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2)

Matthew 16:13-18

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it (NKJV).

  • I believe that Christ died for His church, and gave his life for our sins, that we might have salvation through Him (John 3:16)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (NKJV).

  • I believe that baptism is necessary for salvation, not as a work of man, but as a symbolic act of love, showing our humility and submission to God (I Peter 3:18-22)

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went andproclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is,eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him (ESV).

  • I believe that rather than joining the man-founded church of our choice, the Lord adds us to His church–the one built on Peter’s confession and established on the day of Pentecost–when we follow His plan of salvation (Acts 2:47)

And the Lord added to the Church daily those who were being saved (NKJV).

  • The Lord’s Plan of Salvation

    1. We are to HEAR the word of God, and let it be the foundation of our faith: Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
    2. We are to BELIEVE the Bible, particularly that Jesus is the Christ, our savior, and the Son of the living God, and that through his death, we obtain salvation from our sins: John 8:24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He,you will die in your sins.
    3. We must REPENT of our sins, meaning that we choose selflessness over our sinful desires, and choose instead to serve God and others. Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
    4. We must CONFESS our faith before men. Matthew 10:32-33 Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
    5. We must BE BAPTIZED for the remission (forgiveness) of our sins. Remission is like the cancellation of our debt, which Jesus paid with his own blood. When our body is immersed in the waters of baptism, we are symbolically renacting the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and we come out of the water a new creature. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
    6. We must REMAIN FAITHFUL, even in a world where we are constantly assaulted with temptation from the devil, and it feels we will always have to struggle against our sin. Remember God’s promises, which are new every morning. Revelations 2:10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Many blessings! Please, feel free to send a message on the Contact page if you have questions or would like to study this further.
