Can’t Write, Must Sleep

I wonder if this happens to any other writers–it’s a busy week, lots of work obligations, the house is a wreck, clean clothes are hard to come by. I worked on school stuff to near exhaustion, and I know as soon as my head hits the pillow, it will fill with ideas from my story. You know–those ideas that JUST CAN’T WAIT. Seriously, the ones that you know are going to fizzle out of your head into nothingness if you don’t sit down at the computer and start typing. And then, you start feeling guilty about how snappy you’ll be to everyone because you’re so tired, and you lose the great moment anyway.

I’d love to know how other writers are able to remember these creative genius moments when they aren’t able to write them down. Anyone? Anyone? Crickets?

I’ve come to the conclusion that I need a good diction app. I can pick up my phone from the nightstand, murmur in a few thoughts, and gleefully drift into peaceful oblivion until the next thought hits. Anybody know of a good app that could understand exhausted gibberish? No? LOL, well, maybe just a notebook by the bed would suffice.
